My research focus lies in the area of prosody and intonation. For instance, I work on the question which intonational contrasts there are and how they are phonetically realized and what their meaning contribution is. I am also studying how listeners (adults, children, non-native listeners) process prosody and intonation. This touches upon the question how intonational information is integrated with lexico-semantic information. and which effect(s) the native language has on the adquisition of prosody and intonation in second language acqusition.

Ich am regularly teaching in the areas phonetics, phonology, intonation, psycholinguistics, experimental methods and statistics. I am happy to have been awarded the teaching prize of the students of the University of Konstanz.
