The Department of Linguistics places great importance on a solid methodological foundation as well as learning from research, in order to prepare students for entry into linguistic research and careers in the field. Our undergraduate and graduate students find positions in many different professions, including editing and publishing, language schools, marketing, advising, IT.  They may also continue as graduate students at the university. Courses are offered in the following areas: General linguistics, English linguistics, Germanic linguistics, Romance linguistics, Slavic linguistics, and the Double-Degree Option with the Università di Verona and a focus on applied linguistics.
