  • Marieke Einfeldt, Rita Sevastjanova, Katharina Zahner, Nicole Dehé, and Bettina Braun are giving a talk entitled Active learning systems as a solution for stimulus selection and data modelling in complex behavioural study designs? at the LabPhon 17 Satellite Worshop "Cue weighting: thinking outside the box" on July 5th.
     
  • Tamara Rathcke is giving a talk entitled Is language rhythm in the ear of the beholder? A sensorimotor synchronisation approach to the cross-linguistic study of rhythm (co-authored with Chia-Yuan Lin/Kent, Simone Falk/ Montreal and Simone Dalla Bella/ Montreal) at the LabPhon 17 conference, in the session "Phonological Contrasts on the Margins". The discussion of the session is taking place July 6th, 16-17:30. It is free for all LabPhon members to attend.
     
  • Katharina Zahner, Marieke Einfeldt, Bettina Braun, and Nicole Dehé are giving a presentation on Imitating alignment differences in German nuclear accents – is (L+H)* a category? at the LabPhon 17 Satellite workshop "Situating phonological contrast within the production-perception loop" on July 9th.
     
  • Sandy Ciroux will be presenting a paper entitled How to Say Things with Hand Gestures, that will be published in the proceedings of SemDial 2020.

  • Hannah Booth presented a paper in digital format at the recent 25th International Lexical-Functional Grammar Conference. The title of the talk was Argument configurationality and discourse configurationality in Old Icelandic and the video presentation can be accessed here.
     
  • Anna Czypionka gave an invited talk at the Grammar and Cognition group at the University of Amsterdam on June 5th.
     
  • Theo Marinis gave a keynote talk on Language and executive function abilities in bilingual children with Autism in Saudi Arabia: differences between ALN and ALI on the 17th June at the conference: Bilingualism and Specific Language Impairment (Developmental Language Disorder). The talk was given online.
     
  • Between 23rd-25th June 2020 Theo Marinis and members of his team presented the following talks and posters at the Conference on Multilingualism (COM2020) at the Centre for Literacy & Multilingualism, University of Reading, UK.

  • Tina Bögel and Lea Raach gave a talk on Swabian 'ed' and 'edda': Negation at the interfaces at the “LFG conference” on June 24th.

  • The Babyspeech lab has released a new App to conduct remote infant experiments. Via the BSL App, infants and their participants can take part in experiments from their home. In the present experiment, we study whether infants recognize German words when they are spoken in a regional dialect or with a foreign accent.

  • Theo Marinis gave the invited talk Do bilingual children show effects of Relatived Minimality in the processing of wh-questions? Evidence from the visual-world paradigm at the Séminaire de Recherche en Linguistique, Université de Genève on 21st April 2020.
     
  • Georg A. Kaiser gave an invited talk on Variation syntaxique dans les interrogatives partielles des langues romanes at the Séminaire de Recherche en Linguistique at the Université de Genève on April 28th.
     
  • In March 2020 Jessica Zipf started working on the project 'edu 4.0 - Lehrerbildung für eine Kultur der digitalen Transformation an Gymnasien und Beruflichen Schulen' (Teacher education for a culture of digital transformation in secondary schools), a project funded by the BMBF Programm Qualitätsoffensive Lehrerbildung.
