My philosophy

I love to teach and to train students. My core competences lie in the areas of phonetics, phonology, psycholinguistics, experimental methods, and statistics. I am continuously seeking to improve my courses and I love to experiment with new forms of teaching, such as the flipped classroom.

I am trying to establish a motivating learning atmosphere in which I take students where they stand, where students with fewer background are brought to track (with additional exercises and suggestions for basic reading) and where more advanced and motivated students are supported and challenged.

In my teaching I use research-oriented methods and use activating techniques.
